Elizabeth E. Stock, K.C. earned her undergraduate degree from Trinity College at the University of Toronto in 1992, and went on to graduate from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law in 1996.
Since her call to the Alberta Bar in 1997, Elizabeth has dedicated her legal career exclusively to family law. She draws on her extensive experience, along with specialized training in Collaborative Law and Mediation, to help clients achieve amicable and effective resolutions. As a seasoned litigator, Elizabeth is equally prepared to protect her clients’ rights in court when necessary.

Melissa S. Byer was born in Toronto, Ontario. She graduated Cum Laude with an Honours Degree in Criminology from the University of Ottawa in 1994 and earned her LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 1998. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 1999.
She began her legal career articling and then practising as a Corporate, Securities, and Mergers & Acquisitions lawyer with an international law firm in Calgary, Alberta. After many years in private practice, she moved in-house as Senior Legal Counsel with a multinational pipeline company headquartered in Calgary.
Following the birth of her children and her own marital breakdown, Melissa chose to embark on a second legal career in Family Law. When her children reached their teenage years, she re-entered the profession as a Senior Paralegal before transitioning to practice as an Associate. Since then, she has gained broad exposure to Family Law and Indigenous Law, including the legal drafting of a proposed Child Welfare statute and regulations.
Melissa’s background in corporate practice also enables her to navigate complex business valuation issues and tax consequences with clarity and precision.
She is committed to providing her clients with solutions that are friendly, supportive, thorough, practical, and cost-effective, while ensuring that their family law matters are handled with efficiency and care.
